We are thrilled to announce that we are working with the Guernsey Arts Commission to deliver the Guernsey Lantern Parade 2017. The event, funded by The Sarah Groves Foundation, will take place on Saturday the 25th of March 2017.

Over the dark winter months we will be delivering a range of community lantern making workshops culminating in a celebratory parade just as we are about to enter spring.

We are also delighted to announce that we will be bringing back SPARK!, a magical live music, movement and lighting spectacular in which five mysterious characters composed of light transform the landscape around them to lead the parade with another added extra twist this year.

Lottie Barnes, Community Arts Development Manager, says...

“The Lantern Parade always exceeds our expectations and this biennial event continues to grow in stature; we are really excited about 2017 parade. The Sarah Groves foundation are the main funders of the parade making this event even more special and has a greater emphasis of the importance of communities coming together.”

Vic and Kate Groves, Sarah’s parents and Founding Trustees of the Sarah Groves Foundation, say...

The Lantern Parade is a wonderful harbinger of Spring. The 2017 event will be held on the very day clocks are put forward and it really will be a splendid display of son et lumière through the streets of St Peter Port. We are confident that the 500 lanterns and 2,000 ‘followers’ involved last time will be exceeded. This is an event that really does live up to The Sarah Groves Foundation's mission of ‘enhancing young lives'.

Keep an eye on both the Guernsey Arts Commission & The Sarah Groves Foundation Facebook pages and our website for dates and locations of lantern making workshops and the route of the parade.
