This event took place from 21st thru 28th May 2014 and was the first fund-raising project underwritten by the Sarah Groves Foundation.  50 riders and essential support staff set off from Guernsey for St Malo by ferry and onwards by bike to Paris and back.

The level of teamwork and camaraderie experienced by everyone on the tour far exceeded expectations.  Every rider made it to Paris and back and thanks to some excellent support work everyone was fed and watered in some style, had excellent overnight accommodation and were well treated for the inevitable aches and pains that manifested themselves along the way.

Very shortly after returning home a celebratory Black Tie dinner and awards night was held at the St Pierre Park Hotel, which rounded off the overall event in fine style.  It had been a successful and unforgettable tour for everyone concerned.

Special thanks are due to Gary Hooks and Leon Howard whose drive, enthusiasm and meticulous planning turned this trip from a dream into a reality.  Gary and Leon have been appointed as Honorary Ambassadors of the Sarah Groves Foundation in recognition of their outstanding efforts to keep Sarah’s name alive.

In excess of £100,000 was raised from individual sponsorships and, with costs of around £40,000, the Foundation benefitted to the extent of £60,000 for the causes it supports.  None of this could not have been achieved without the immensely generous support of our many sponsors - all of whom can be found here.

In addition, the Trustees of the Sarah Groves Foundation wish to place on record their immense gratitude and thanks, not only to the riders, support staff and sponsors referred to above but also to the thousands of individual sponsors upon which the financial success of the event was founded.
